Autonomy vs Shame by The Unbearables

A little information about the EP (from The Unbearables website)
“2008-2009 marks a busy period for The Unbearables. Plans include three EP’s being released. The theme behind the EP’s involve achieved social scientist Erik Erikson’s “Stages of Social Development”. Each EP will be released as a stage, one conflicting another. The first of the three “stages”, Autonomy vs. Shame, was released on September 11, 2008.”

That being said, I can’t wait until the next installment. The four songs that make up Autonomy vs Shame are a bit like The Decemberists but not without their standout differences. The nine members make use every instrument around them, but here’s the difference which I love, they don’t forget that a guitar has pedals that can make a song hit harder without distorting into a Jesus and Mary Chain tribute band. The electric strums come in at the right moments and fade when not suitable. The chorus of singers grab all the perfect moments of an epic song and the builds are fantastical.
