Renegade Craft Fair, Chicago

September 12 and 13, 2009 – On Division between Damen and Paulina St (in Wicker Park)

Who’s excited about Renegade Craft Fair this year?!? I am! I am!

Music, Handmade Goodness, Freebies and Raffles…. but mostly shopping handmade greatness. Over 300 vendors selling incredibly cool and cute items including plush items, jewelry, posters + prints, craft kits, clothing, stationery + more.

Here’s what Renegade Craft Fair has to say about the weekend:

Playing their way through the Craft Fair on Sunday at 1pm will be the brass and reed ensemble Black Bear Combo, delivering what’s sure to be a blast of a set! Drop by the Spins & Needles interactive booth and make some cool stuff while listening to funky beats. Pick from DIY projects including sock animals, paint-by-number portraits, collage drink coasters and lots more! Commemorate your trip to the Renegade Craft Fair by posing for a few snaps in the Magnolia Photo Booth free of charge – situated right outside Renegade’s Division St. storefront, Renegade Handmade!

Other event features include free raffles of various craft publications from Chronicle Books + copies of Faythe Levine’s book Handmade Nation at the Renegade Craft Welcome Stations, free copies of TimeOut Chicago at various booths, and food and beverages for purchase from MANA Food Bar and Big Bite Catering! Beer and wine will also be available for purchase!

(*ps, I recommend getting some food from MANA, it’s vegetarian goodness… better than I’ve ever had.)

Anyways, we hope to see you out here and I know everyone is low cash, but if you’re going to spend your money buying gifts, or cute/cool things you don’t really need – why not give it to some DIY, independent sellers rather than effed up corporations like Walmart?

*Coming in December? Renegade Holiday Craft Fair!!
